Nice showy bright colored piece that can highlight a collection. The Chrysocolla has a waxy look to it. There is also some green Malachite.

Mineral Species Information

Chrysocolla has a blue to blue-green color and is a minor ore of copper, having a wide range of hardness from 2.5 to 7.0. It is a secondary mineral, commonly associated with other secondary copper minerals. It is usually found as glassy botryoidal or rounded masses or bubbly crusts.

Malachite is a green copper carbonate hydroxide mineral that does not fade over time or when exposed to light and was one of the first ores used to produce the metal copper. It was one of the first ores used to obtain the metal copper. Malachite has been used as a sculptural material for thousands of years. Malachite forms at shallow depths in the oxidizing zone of copper deposits
